Thursday Three – Beaulieu

Every Thursday we face a challenge to tell a story in three minutes. We know not all of them will be winners, but it’s a great opportunity to grow as writers and push the envelope of creativity. We hope you’ll be inspired to do something similar.

Twisting and turning, her heart burning

Yearning for the thing that was lost

No matter the cost, she digs even deeper

The scythe of the reaper, has claimed yet another

Her sister, her mother. A long lost friend… her brother

She wished she could see, the forest for the trees

but it’s nothing but a glum look, a crook

a prison not mistook, no room to run

Pulling her further, and further along

Feasting, and creeping but singing a song

Not of hope, nor cheer, no chance for a year

full of smiles for awhile at least she will see nothing but fire

In the eyes of the one, they burn

In the twist and they burn in the turn
